You're in the car park near the entrance to St Pancras Station.
This spectacular station used to be London's Grand Hotel.
King's Cross station is only just over the wall to the right. It's a lot busier and much uglier.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT TOUR OF LONDON. I AM 9 YEARS OLD AND I CAN NOW SAY I'VE SEEN PART OF LONDON. MY MOM AND I HAD A LOT FUN! from GIANCARLO, USA - 29 Jun 2000

Thanks for the tour, Victoria is "probably the largest railway station" is incorrect. The largest railway station in London is Waterloo repeat Waterloo. I should know I have been to all the railway termini in London Thanks and regards Neville from neville.sumpter@virgin.net, England - 2 Oct 2000

it was well funky, i liked it a lot. i really thought the st. pancras shot was lovely, i have never seen it in real life. it really brightened my day. cheers, heena from heensy@hotmail.com, england but right now homesick in germany - 19 Oct 2000

Thank you for your viritual tour. The location on Westminster bridge was wonderful. Thanks again.Bob,Massachusetts,u.s.a. from Bob Gilfoy, U.S.A. - 30 Oct 2000

Excellent! London's definitely calling me! from Susan R., USA - 29 Dec 2000

That neville bloke sounds a bit of a sad trainspotter to me. Top site by the way. from Dave Mathers, UK - 13 Feb 2001

Everyone with the mildest interest in railways knows waterloo is the largest with 23 platforms i believe. It is not the busiest however, this might be victoria. from tillsley@hotmail.com, England - 17 Feb 2001

it's reeeeeeeeeally good. (yo james) from florence n' anna, england - 19 Mar 2001

nice VR, but stitched very badly. try to make a pic from the top and one more from the floor. then you`ll have not so much problems with the edges. greetings fromm germany :-) from augefotografie, germany - 22 Apr 2001

Your website is truly amazing. I really felt like I was back outside the station with my architecture class. Thanks! from jeremydbrown@hotmail.com, USA - 26 Apr 2001

I'm not a trainspotter but need to find the phone number of St Pancras station and the truth is Clapham Junction is the Busiest Rail station in the UK from Dan, UK - 4 May 2001

What an excellent tour. I'm coming out to London in two month, I will take a english course in Kent. I knew the Victoria Railway Station in this web, but I´d like to know the Heathrow airport.I want to know it first by this virtual tour. I thank early to you. from javier-rivero@starmedia.com, VENEZUELA, Caracas - 11 May 2001

Thanks for the tour,it's SO good, I now feel even MORE homesick! A word to any english person who's thinking of coming to live in the U.S.A. DON'T! If this is progress, keep it, I'd rather still be in England and 50 years behind the times! Here,no High Streets, same boring stores & Malls in every state, Sears, Mervyns etc: and as for the buildings,(especially in Texas) can they GET any uglier???? I've been to almost every state in the last 4 years, they ALL have ugly buildings. And, if you do what I did and MARRY an American, you'll be REALLY sorry, they're SO blind, they actually think their country doesn't stink! Oh well, bed and lying on it springs to mind, but I feel a LOT better having shared this with y'all. Thanks for listening! Susie Wright, Dallas Texas. USA. from Susie Wright, Dallas, Texas, U.S.A. - 26 May 2001

hey this tour was really good. i miss england even though im going back in 2 weeks but the tour was excellant. cant wait to get back there. thanks from guitarchic2508@aol.com, usa - 5 Jul 2001

This is in response to Susie Wright's comments in Dallas. With the exception of Washington, DC, the states don't have attractive architecture, but you have to admit, we have better weather! Great VR site. Looking at this site makes me want to return to England. I spent three years there while in the Air Force. Thanks for the site. from Lee, fordrac88@aol.com, USA - 19 Jul 2001

I have a slight rider to Neville comments. Victoria station may not be the largest in London but it is certainly the busiest. Over 85 million passengers use it as their start or end station each year. By the way Max, your site is excellent. The Mole www.goingunderground.net from The Mole, London UK - 25 Aug 2001

I was at Victoria Station on Tuesday 13th August, 2002 and all except 1 of the self service ticket machines did'nt have spare change. Whilst i'm a Brit and used to bearing and grunting this kinda thing(train delays, huge queues at Victoria, overcrowding on trains and the station), for tourists and visitors from overseas this would be a problem especially if they were struggling with Sterling and English. Good website, lets see it in Japanese and French! from Darren, UK - 14 Aug 2002

Does anyone know the name of the hotel that is inside victoria station? Not nearby- it is actually in the station. Thanks much. susan from susiegress@attbi.com, usa - 24 Sep 2002

I arrive at Gatwick on 13th August 2003 AM and depart from Heathrow on 14th August 2003 PM. I require storage for 2 suitcases. How much will it cost? Is there a hotel WITHIN the Station itself? Thank you Joan Westray (jbwestray@aol.com) from jbwestray@aol.com, South Africa - 9 Aug 2003

Ms.Susie Wright's comments about the USA are rude, narrow-minded and insular. Ms.Wright is whining about the USA because it is not like her home nation. Ms.Wright, you are the one who is blind, you need to realize that other nations do things quite differently than your home nation and they don't "stink" because they are not like your home country. I like my stores, buildings and country. Whether a place is good or bad is a matter of opinion and there are those who think England stinks too. Perhaps,Ms. Wright, you should go back to where you came from--Thank-you Karen Hill from Karen Hill, Austin, Texas USA - 11 Aug 2003

A wonderful tour for a Londoner who hasn´t been able to visit home for the past 14 years. It brought tears to my eyes. How about some scenes with a couple of rainy days, too? Unfortunately, the otherwise complimentary and intelligent remarks, made by most British and foreign viewers of the largest, and most interesting, city in Europe, was slightly marred by a slanging-match between two women. Susie Wright had no right to use this site as a platform for her views on the U.S., and Karen Hill(if that is her real name) managed to insult the British as well! Grow up, both of you. from Peter Wilson, e-mail: mcglashan@surfeu.de, Germany - 1 Sep 2003

I NEVER insulted the British. Ms. Wright said the USA "stunk" and I said that was a matter of opinion and there were those(not me)who may feel the same way about her country too as whether a place is good or bad is a matter of opinion. I was not immature, I was just stating a simple fact in response to her comment and nothing was "marred" even though it was off topic. I will get back to the topic and say that I did just get back from London a week ago and was at the Victoria Train Station again and the service was very efficient.Thank-You K.Hill from K.Hill, Texas(USA) - 19 Sep 2003

These types of views are really good, however in common with many people who use mouse or joysticks to control things I don't naturally expect "forward" to take me "up" and "back" to take me "down". Not many things naturally steer like that so I keep smashing into the ground when trying to move around. The 'natural' tendency is to correct downward drift by pulling back. from Steve, UK - 29 Oct 2003

You know, Susie Wright, you have no idea. Just because something is different doesn't mean it isn't good. Obviously your attitude must rub off on people right away. I am American and have lived in England for the past 8 years and I can honestly say it has been a good experience and I have so many friends and have learned so much more about Europe this way. That said, I can't wait to go home and see some smiling faces, have some nice strangers talk to me and actually be able to save money instead of spending over the odds in rip off Britain! If you don't like it, go home! Easy enough. You must understand that America is a younger country and so traditions and customs are obviously going to be different. Not all Americans think their country is the greatest, although I am proud of where I come from I know the country has problems and am readily willing to admit that. You are just stereotyping, as usual. Try to open your eyes and see the individuals around you and try not to be so blindly patriotic. You are guilty of acting the same way that the individuals you so readily criticise do. By the way before you ask, my husband is English and he loves the States! from Carrie, England - 2 Mar 2005

Left-luggage locker Because so many people are asking and I had the same question, here is an answer: The Left Luggage locker bay is situated between platforms 7 and 8. Access is via a ramp. The Left Luggage office is open from 0700 - 0000. Lost property can be found in this same location. If you need to dump your luggage for a while then go to Victoria Station. Costs around £4-£10 a day depending on size of locker. Hope these information are still valid and helpful! from Marc, Germany - 4 May 2005
